Weaving Stories. Building Peace.

The SCARF Project

Seeking Connection Across Religion & Fashion

The SCARF Project is a global invitation to cultivate meaningful connections through stories that transcend faith and culture.

Scarves woven with intentionality and worn with purpose are seen as symbols of identity, justice, unity, and fashion.

One scarf at a time, we are building a movement of dignity,
strength, and solidarity through the work of the Center for Women, Faith & Leadership (CWFL).

Join the Movement

In CWFL’s campaign, the scarf is a universal symbol of dignity, tradition, and purpose–worn for faith, fashion, and protest.

It’s a small piece of fabric that carries deep personal and cultural meaning.

Scarves are worn by Muslim women as hijabs, by Catholic Sisters in religious life, by Jewish women in synagogue, by Protestant women, and by women of no faith as a statement of fashion or solidarity—and by men, too.

In this campaign, the scarf is a symbol of shared humanity, connection, and sacred purpose.

By wearing a scarf and sharing your story, you stand with women of faith all over the world who are working to end violence, fighting against food injustice, and empowering women entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses.
